A day of relaxation, Defenestration, and Consecration.

James (my boyfriend) says Valentine’s Day is just another day for the world to take money, from all the love gurus of the world. hahaha. After doing some research I have found there are many different interpretations behind the meaning and origination of this holiday where heart shaped boxes filled with various chocolates flood the stores for miles around. I think it’s a great day! I mean who wouldn't want some yummy chocolates and maybe some flowers… of any kind really (James got me tulips, my fav!) to decorate their dinning room table? I got James a bamboo tree because... well he is obsessed with plants! Flowers would just be a waste.

Since Valentine’s Day fell on a Tuesday this year, James and I didn’t celebrate until the following weekend. James had no idea what was planned other than we were going to spend the day together. We drove out to Sonoma County which took forever, we were both ready to get out of the car by the time we arrived. Little did he know, we were about to sit down to a full flight of tasters that we wouldn’t be able to finish. We walked in to the Russian River Brewery where James began to marvel at the beer board where all the names ended in `tion’ which we both thought was quite peculiar.

My favorite was by far redemption; a blonde ale that was crisp and easy to drink, James on the other hand enjoyed a double IPA called “Pliny the Elder.” Quite the remarkable name if I do say so myself! It was so much fun being somewhere new, we added a new growler to our collection and even got a key chain of James favorite beer!

From there we got back on the freeway and after a few exits ended up at a spa (Royal Care Living Spa via Living Social) where we got a couple’s massage. James loved that! He had just been complaining about his back hurting, so it was perfect! We even received a complimentary box of truffles that were delicious! We then headed back downtown for some snacks and a game of pool. It was almost 6pm so we thought we should be on our way home but not before we took a slight detour to the Petaluma outlets!!! Woo hoo!!! Overall it was such a relaxing day; those living social deals really are awesome!

 love ya, bye
