Mama always said, "Girlfriends are forever, men will come and go."

I am sorry i haven't posted much this week! There have been so many exciting things happening in my life including new job which i'm trying to get adjusted to. Here is what I've been working on for the past few days!

WARNING: hold on tight this will fulfilling your assigned reading for the next 3 weeks. it's long but oh so good!

It's why life is so fulfilling. It's how a dinner reservation turns into an event. It's why the smallest gesture can mean so much more. It's why i look forward to the tomorrow. It's why when the sun comes out it's cause for celebration. It's what makes me laugh till i cry and sometimes pee my pants. No it's not that hilarious obscene commercial that airs every Tuesday before Glee! I know, you know the one!

-I can only describe them as the most amazing, irreplaceable, intelligent, unforgettable, strong, sophisticated, beautiful, independent women in my life that hold the key to laughter, whose radiance can be seen in the darkest of places. These are the  friends who know exactly what to say, who know when somethings wrong after a sending text that only reads, "hello." These are the people who have blessed my life with merely their presence and made living such an adventure.

So many friends, so little time. However, there are a few I need to highlight that are dearest to my heart. I think it would only be appropriate to first mention a particular lady I've known for almost 2 decades. Pretty long time when you consider my age (24).  When I was very young, i think around 5 years old, my brother had a friend from preschool, Matt. Usually at that age though the parents are more often friends than the youngsters themselves, it's just how it works I guess. Any who Matt's mom and my mama thought it would be a grand idea to introduce Matt's sister and I to each other. As I prepared we meet, I can only imagine myself all excited, picking out a cute lil' dress and pulling that Velcro across my little Baby Janes.  Little did I know upon arrival my life would be changed forever but not without a short tantrum session by my soon to be bestie. She hated me!

From the moment i walked into her lil' corned of the world i had ruined it all. I didn't exactly fit into her plan for that particular summer Saturday afternoon. She had made plans with her cousins that day to go swimming at the local pool; meeting me was not on the agenda. ha Well lucky for her, and i'm sure she would agree, her mom made her play with me. lol  It's funny how things work out -because after almost twenty years we couldn't be closer. I couldn't be more proud of the women we are today because it was by all means the bumpiest of rides getting here. We are stubborn and independent but together we have experienced and conquered it all. This incredible woman has become such an inspiration to me in so many ways.

I truly believe that when you graduate H>S> you have the opportunity to choose the friends you want to stay connected with and the ones you don't. When in H>S> you have friends and then you have "friends" you're associated with because of your friends. Don't get me wrong H>S> was great, but like any one's H>S> experience mine too entertained it's full hour of drama. When graduation came i had mixed feelings, was i happy, was i sad? Who really knows, but one things for sure you couldn't pay me to go back. haha However, one could say i was lucky enough to come out with friends for life. This first lil' gem I met in the girls locker room on the first day of school, she was cheerleader, extremely radiant and made me feel like i fit right in. I want to stress how much i did not....at all, fit it. i.e. It was the beginning of September, in California mind you and as you might imagine you could fry an egg in the quad by 9am. With all that said i thought it to be pure genius to wear a sweatshirt, and not only that but one with a monkey on it. ugh what was i thinking? Who knows-but like i said you couldn't pay me to go back! Everything aside she didn't think twice when she asked me to hang out with her at lunch, those are the gestures you never forget because it meant so much.

Some months later another lil' firecracker made her lasting first impression a little louder when she...well that's a whole other story. (i don't want to embarrass anyone) This young lady is vibrant and vivacious and unlike anyone I've ever known. Making every situation enjoyable she continues to stand out while making everyone else feel like super star.
This next woman is hilarious, witty, beautiful, creative and sarcastic. She is the best kind of person to be around and really exudes true beauty. When i want the truth i call on her and she always tells me like it is; i love her for that.

College. Mama always said i would find my best girl friends in my twenties and did i ever. She was right there as orientation started, she was quirky, fun-loving, and had a smile that went for miles. This woman was then and still is something special, if you've ever had the pleasure of meeting her you know exactly what i mean, and know it's hard to explain. Pulling you in with her love for life and all things pink you know life is better because she is apart of it. Such a breathe of fresh air.
It wasn't until the last few months of my college career that i became particularly fond of my now partner in crime. This woman is exquisite to say the least. Always up for an adventure and in search of something new, she longs for the simplicity of the sand between her toes and a sip of a great sour beer. (yes, i said sour beer, it does exist, look it up) She is amazing and unforgettable in every way, she makes me laugh and smile. She taught me to be adventurous and to try new things, to take from life all it has to offer and love the ones your with!!! I could just squeeze her to pieces.

When my bestie was attending college I had the privilege of meeting her roommates but i never knew those girls would change my life in such a great way! These 3 women are fabulous, fashionable, wickedly funny! Each divine in their own right, together they exemplify the kind of woman I want to be. Without each of them i would feel lost! We truly have become great gal pals and i just wouldn't have it any other way! Love them!!!!

It goes without saying that my loving and handsome man brings so much happiness and joy into my life. However, beyond that i have been able to form some amazing friendships through him with 2 other people who are so full of life. Both are just fabulous, witty women who love their trashy mags! ha I would just die without them because we always have such an amazing time together.

Then there is this lil' lady who is the mirror image of me even though we look nothing alike. We share the same thoughts at exactly the same time, both apprehensive when put in certain situations and both really... well ballsy i guess. Gorgeous outside and beautiful inside she radiates her energy to all. She is a firecracker above all else, why anyone wouldn't love her i just couldn't understand.

Well those are the beauties of my life, hope you enjoyed!

Love ya, Bye
